Terms of Service

1. Overview
Mediatery ("we," "us," "our") provides an online dispute resolution platform that connects parties in a disagreement with AI-powered analysis and independent human panels to help reach fair, non-binding resolutions.
2. Not Legal Advice
Mediatery is not a law firm, court, or arbitration body. Our services do not constitute legal advice. Resolutions rendered through our platform are non-binding recommendations. For legally binding resolutions, consult a licensed attorney.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Mediatery as a party. Panelists must be at least 21 years old. You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
4. Scope of Disputes
Mediatery handles civil disputes between individuals and/or businesses. We do not handle: criminal matters, domestic violence situations, child custody disputes, disputes involving threats of harm, or any matter that requires immediate legal or law enforcement intervention.
5. Payments and Fees
All fees are clearly displayed before payment. The $14.95 initiation fee is non-refundable. If the other party does not accept the invitation within 7 days, no additional fees are charged. Full mediation fees are charged upon both parties' participation. Appeal fees are charged per appeal, but only if the appeal contains genuinely new information.
6. Information Wall
Neither party sees the other party's raw submission. Party B receives only an AI-generated neutral summary of Party A's claims. This information wall is a core feature of our service and cannot be bypassed.
7. Honor Pledge
Both parties must accept the Honor Pledge before submitting their account. The Honor Pledge commits you to truthfulness, good faith, and willingness to consider the other perspective. Pledge text, IP address, and timestamp are recorded.
8. Privacy and Anonymity
Party real names are never shown to the other party or to panelists. Panelists are identified only by their code names. See our Privacy Policy for full details on data handling.
9. Panelist Conduct
Panelists agree to confidentiality, independent judgment, and timely review. Panelists vote independently and do not see other panelists' votes until all votes are submitted.
10. Appeals
AI Mediation disputes allow up to 3 appeals per party. Crowdsourced disputes (direct entry) allow up to 3 appeals per party, each reviewed by an entirely new panel. Escalated disputes (from AI to crowdsourced) allow no further appeals. Appeals must contain genuinely new evidence or arguments; restatements are rejected without charge.
11. Data Retention
Raw evidence files (images, documents, audio, video) are permanently deleted 30 days after a dispute is resolved. AI-generated summaries, transcripts, and resolution documents are retained permanently.
12. Intellectual Property
All content, design, and technology on Mediatery is our intellectual property. You retain ownership of content you submit but grant us a license to process it for dispute resolution purposes.
13. Limitation of Liability
Mediatery's liability is limited to the fees paid for the specific dispute in question. We are not liable for any outcomes, decisions, or actions taken based on our resolutions.
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
